Spring 2020 Hays, KS Area Real Estate Update

Robert Readle here with your Coldwell Executive Realty Spring Market Update. Well this update can only be described as one thing and that is a wild one. There have been so many different factors at play here that it’s really hard to identify what is exactly moving and driving our market trends, but one thing is clear, Hays real estate market is hot this year.

For the month of April we saw almost 60% more real estate sale in 2020 than we did back in 2019 and April wasn’t the only hot spot. Even year to date we’ve seen 77 homes sell in Hays and that’s 51% more than at this point last year. As a result, the number of homes to pick from has fallen dramatically over the last year.

We now have 17.5% fewer listings in Hays going into the selling season. And there are now fewer than 100 homes to pick from, this is the first time inventory has fallen below the 100 home level since 2016.
